This small, wooden frame stands tall or wide, depending on the photo you need to display. The wavy curves around the inside edge add an ellegance that is hard to match.

This frame was painted in what is called crackle paint. The first basecoat is the darker gray, which is followed by the lighter gray with crackle medium mixed in. When that coat is dry another crackle coat is added which makes the paint crack as it dries and also serves as the finishing coat for the frame.

In this case, the lighter gray was brushed in to create a slightly blended effect. Crackle coats can be any two colors or can contain flecks of brighter colors within the cracks.
