Excellent for holding small gifts, these wooden boxes fit in the palm of your hand. The lids come without hinges and snap or rest on the top of the box, depending on the cut. The shape in the center varies greatly from stars, apples, and houses to dragonflies, suns and flowers. There is no protective covering over these holes and so care must be taken that objects don't fall out from the top.

This keepsake box was painted a light yellow before being smoked to give it the dark whispy look on the outside. The inside was then repainted to cover any smoke that accidentally reached into the inside of the box. Along with the repainting of the inside, the rim of the lid, and the outline of the star were repainted with the light yellow base coat to bring out the brilliance of a star in space.
