This 'box' was a craft store sale find which I decided to add to my personal collection. The solid wood pumpkin is hollow inside and large enough to hold quite a stash. It's also very sturdy.

The basecoat is actually an off white color, which is then sponge painted in a dark orange for the bottom, dark green for the lid. Lighter shades were then added over top of the darker ones, about three shades thick, to add depth to the pumpkin. Where the curves met, the off white color remained as a highlight. The result was a colorful place to stick the halloween goodies.
